Hazardous locations, as defined by SVS for video systems states that: a hazardous location is defined as an area that a standard video system cannot survive or an area that is hazardous to a standard video system over time. This means that virtually any environment outside of a man made climate controlled environment can be hazardous to the average video camera. In order to shield these video cameras from the elements, it is typical to enclose them in some sort of box or housing. This usually makes the camera large and bulky and can cost from twice to thirty times the original camera cost. However well made these boxes are, they usually never succeed in total environmental control, even when utilizing heaters, pressurized containers or chemical absorbents. Enter Subsea Video Systems, Inc.!
All our products in this catalog are designed to withstand hazardous environments to video systems. From industrial environments of dirt, vibration, moisture, and chemicals, to the shipboard environment of safety, cargo handling, engine room monitoring, to the diving environment of pressure, corrosion, moisture, to even the home environment of outdoor security, pool monitoring, and gate keeper. The unique properties of our molded video systems make these products immune to pressure, totally waterproof, shock resistant, and even retard open flame.
The S-series line of video cameras have been proven in the real world for the last four years from the arctic, to thousands of feet below all of the worlds oceans, to oil well pipe inspections, to thousands of feet up into the world’s atmosphere, and deserts of Africa. A few of our tougher customers and their use of the S-series camera should convince you of these cameras potential:
Naval Research Lab (NRL) - Used to thousands of feet deep into the ocean depths for extended periods of time. All other information is Classified.
Navy Seal Teams - Classified as to actual use of cameras.
United States Air Force - Mounted on exterior of fighter aircraft to video flight functions during in flight operations.
Hydro Group - Deep well pipe inspections with color and infrared technology.
Disney World - Monitoring the various artificial lakes and aquariums.
This camera line is not only used by these tough customers, but equally found in industrial plants, homes, boats, trucks, fish nets, engine rooms, industrial ovens, pools, parking lots, etc., etc. The point of all this is to prove that our video products can survive indefinitely in any location from the extreme to the sublime.
The other difference with our products, to the questionable competition, is the price. While camera housings of whatever type are usually many times the cost of the camera itself, our camera prices are usually no more than the average security camera alone. The patented manufactured process and material used is what keeps costs down to an average individual’s price range.
Manufacturing techniques not only minimize costs but also allow semi-customizing of many of our products again without the costs usually involved with such.
If needed, a phone call to one of our specialists will help in selecting the best product for your particular needs. A quotation can be quickly faxed to your location, and help is always available to our customers between the hours of 8:00 AM CST to 5 PM CST. We also do not like phone computer systems and try to always have someone on hand to talk to; however, when all of our phone lines are overloaded an answering system kicks in. We will then return all calls at the earliest possible, certainly that same day.
We know our video systems are the best in quality and price.
